Watch video: “How did North American expansion impact MiQ’s growth trajectory” (transcript below)

North American expansion was a huge thing for Gurman and Lee when we invested in the business. They’d already got a fledgling New York office, but really wanted to drive that across America. In the US, you know, you need to have sort of one solution that the masses can buy. The UK was quite a customised approach. It’s a bit more competitive, there’s a similar amount of competitors, but going after a smaller chunk of money. But add a little bit of that customisation expertise, then actually as a UK business you can be very, very successful. In the US, MiQ grew four or five times revenues over our investment period. The North America revenues seven x, so by the time we exited MiQ, North American revenues were 80% of group revenues. A phenomenal growth.

Recorded: 2025

A big project that we worked with ECI on was to launch MiQ in Asia. The Commercial Team were invaluable, helping us find consultants and even all the legalities and operational aspects of setting up entities in those markets. They really held our hand in doing that.
