Investis was primarily a UK-based company that focussed a lot on tools and feeds that supported the investor relations community.
In meeting ECI, they were very instrumental in moving us into the US. When they first came on board, Za Digital was predominantly a search and optimisation company — this was an opportunity for us to expand our base in the US as well as gaining some capability that would serve us globally.
We did a lot of work reviewing the market, reviewing the strategic context, and then really getting into the nitty gritty of reviewing the Za Digital business — its customer base, its proposition, how strong that was relative to the competition, and how that would play across the Investis customer base.
For the cross-sell it was a somewhat complicated deal, and ECI was very helpful in helping us organise ourselves with the banks and bringing the right bank to the party. They’re very well connected in the banking community here in London and they were there every step of the way — if we had any questions, they were helping us to negotiate the deal.
