We are delighted to announce that Independent Governance Group (IGG), a leading provider of professional pensions trusteeship, governance and communication services, has appointed Mike Ethelston as Chief Executive Officer, effective 2 November 2026.

Operating primarily across the UK and Ireland, IGG has 225 professional staff and more than 500 appointments with assets exceeding £320 billion.

Mike brings over thirty years of leadership experience at premier professional services firms to the role, having held senior positions at Accenture and Capco, where he was UK Managing Partner. Mike’s appointment comes as IGG looks to its next growth phase, building on the leading position in the pensions industry which Founder and current CEO Andrew Bradshaw has overseen. Andrew will become a Non-Executive Director at IGG and remains a significant investor in the firm.

Mike joins at a time of increasing demand for professional trusteeship and governance services. His proven expertise in successfully managing growing professional services firms means that he is well placed to ensure IGG benefits from this market opportunity.

The Board and I are delighted that Mike has accepted the role as CEO at IGG and look forward to working with him.

I want to thank Andrew for his contribution to IGG’s success and I am delighted he will continue to contribute as a Non-Executive Director.

Mike Kirby

Chair at IGG

IGG’s reputation for excellence in pensions governance is unmatched. The strength of the existing management team, the IGG culture and the commitment of the Board to the firm’s development in the governance arena were all critical factors in my decision to join IGG.

I am excited by this opportunity and look forward to working with the IGG team, clients and industry partners as IGG moves to the next phase of its evolution.
