Mark Keeley
Portfolio Adviser
I was a Partner in ECI’s investment team with almost two decades of experience of leading deals from initial investment through to successful exit. Having enjoyed my role on portfolio company boards such as MPM, Fourth and Clarke Energy I decided to leave ECI to explore a plural non-executive career. As a Portfolio Adviser I represent ECI on the boards of BCN Group and Moneypenny.
I started my career with a crash course in the world of finance from Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. Having really enjoyed meeting so many different businesses, I wanted to contribute to and ultimately share in their longer-term success, so when the opportunity arose to move into private equity, I didn’t hesitate.
“After short spells trying my hand as a newspaper boy and farm labourer, my first real job was in the kitchen at McDonalds. I can only guess at how many thousands of hamburgers I have cooked!”
“The 1980’s classic, Top Gun. At 6ft 3, I am too tall to fit in a fighter jet cockpit, so watching the exploits of Maverick, Iceman and Co. is as close as I will ever get to the real thing.”
“When I’ve nothing better to do, I look down the league table to see how Everton are getting along – Bill Shankly.”
