ECI’s Ken Lindsay collected the 2010 Acquisitions Monthly Mid-market private equity deal of the year for the highly successful exit of Racal Acoustics to Esterline Technologies Corporation in January 2009 for £115m. Racal Acoustics is the world's leading manufacturer and supplier of 'ruggedised' specialist personal communications equipment for military applications, operating from premises in Harrow.
ECI's Ken Lindsay who led the transaction and sat on the Board of Racal Acoustics throughout the ECI investment period commented:
“We are extremely proud to win this award which recognises the very considerable development and export growth achieved by Racal Acoustics over the three years of our investment under the guidance of an excellent management team. It was a great investment for ECI's investors, and Esterline now own a strong international business which has continued to perform extremely well over the past twelve months since the sale completed”.
Racal Acoustics also won the 2009 M&A magazine Deal/Dealmaker of the year award in May 2009 and Geof Eeles, Racal’s CEO, was awarded the Best Investment / Exit at the inaugural BVCA CEO awards on 14th October 2009.
The 2010 Acquisitions Monthly Awards Dinner took place at The Hilton, Park Lane on 19th January 2010 and was attended by over 500 of the M&A industry's most senior figures.
